Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, Puy-deDomme France in August 9th 1976. She is the oldest child of 4 children. Audrey Tautou's parents who were a dentist and a school teacher were supportive and encouraged by her initial passion for drama and theater. The initial goal of her of becoming a specialist in monkeys was eclipsed by her wish to study theater and drama. It was a quick rise in her career to become a famous young actor. After completing her degree she was invited to take part in Jeunes Premiers, a French show on TV that is a talent-scouting initiative, which is which was run by Canal+. There she was awarded the prize for the Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. The result was that she decided to embark on a acting profession. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, was a churchgoer in her youth and was educated Catholic. But she has now distanced herself with the Catholic tradition. Apart from her acting work, she was also interested in modelling. She modelled for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and is known as "The Chanel Muse". A keen photographer, she produced a recent exhibition during The Arles International Festival entitled Superficial. The focus of her photography is celebrity, fame and the media who scrutinized her following her emergence on the scene in the film Amelie. Also, she has several photographs that show her self. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her debut role as Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie was an international box-office film that received acclaim at awards galas around the world. Amelie has been the most financially successful film that is French-speak in the US. In the following year, she was a part of British dramas, including Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. Then Tautou moved to Hollywood in the United States, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
