Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) was an American actress, singer as well as a dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway roles, she played in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors and actors on stage and screen for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford will next be seen starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working on the film for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film is a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will return to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the production. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main characters into the first ever impeachment trial in the United States in more than a century. For two seasons, she was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Her additional Broadway roles are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver & raised there.
