I spent months working 12 hour days sanding floors and taking wallpaper down with one baby strapped to my back while the other babies were crawling inside the playpen. Ha! We were getting closer to completing, however we were a long way off. In this undertaking, I was prepared to invest a significant amount of money and spend time searching for the perfect home. To stay within budget, I began by taking my sons to estate sales looking for of diamonds. Every week, we spent Thursday to Saturday at garage sales and estate sales, buying old and new furniture. Then I painted and sanded the driveway in the week. It was a bit like this... This was when my interest in the restoration of furniture first began. Even though the house was furnished, I could not put down. Markets in town had room for me to market my items. There were so many pieces I didn't think of a solution and I outgrew my space. The number of people who visited my home in just one weekend to purchase all the things on the ground. Growing Days was created in this home. The business wasn't just thriving but I was growing our family of four. I was balancing the demands between what it took to start a new business while also being a mommy. Growing Days just fit. My daughter Nora became our fourth daughter. It was a great direction for my business however, I needed a vacation. I decided to step back and stay at home, with my children. It was time. But after a couple of months off the phone started to call. They asked for my help in interior decoration and renovations. The majority of them had been to my home during open houses that were held for furniture. The time flew by before I was managing a full-scale home renovation company. It began with taking clients with a speed I was at ease with. Most likely, I would have laughed if somebody had informed me that my business was going to be the basis for an upcoming television show on DIY Network. Even now, when I think about the circumstances I am laughing.
