Laura Linney was one of the greatest American actors to emerge from the past. Her savacious and vulnerable roles have made her a household name. Linney was born to an unmarried single mother who worked as a nursing assistant. She became interested with theatre in summers spent with her famous father. Her studies in acting were through Brown University, and later in Juilliard School. In the two years following her graduation, she launched her Broadway career. A few years later, she was she was on television. She has appeared in innumerable films, and television and stage shows since. Over the course of her career, she won numerous awards including the two Golden Globe Awards. However, in spite of the array of awards acting has been her primary passion and she has continued to appear both on stage and screen.
